If your space and budget are really tight, begin making your outdoor areas appealing by using potted plants, creepers, wind chimes, little fountain water features and also candles, fun lamps or solar-powered cube lights that add colour and ambience during the day and extend it into the evening.  \n\nWhen potting plants and flowers (please) don\u2019t opt for plastic pots; add character as well as visual and textural charm by choosing pots in pretty glazed colours, or if they are too expensive then get the traditional terracotta ones and paint them yourself.
